Acknowledge, Care, and Tell - 9th Graders

October 29, 2018

Information has been sent home to parents of 9th graders regarding our upcoming Acknowledge, Care & Tell program. The program goals are to help your teenager recognize the signs of depression and understand that depression is a treatable illness, to impress upon teens that they can help themselves or a friend by talking to an adult about their concerns and to explain that suicide is a preventable tragedy that often occurs as a result of untreated depression. Students will watch a 25-minute video called “Friends for Life” followed by a discussion facilitated by an MHS counseling or clinical staff member. After the discussion, students will complete a brief adolescent depression screening tool. If you would like your child to opt out of this, please complete this letter.
