buddy sekelyCongratulations to Safety and Security Specialist Buddy Sekely who was recognized at the annual FCPS Honors event as the 2019 Region 2 Outstanding Leader and one of five finalists for this year's Outstanding Leader Award!

For the past twenty-one years Mr. Sekely has alleviated stressful situations at McLean High School and has built a reputation based on trust and respect. During lunches, you’ll find him in the cafeteria, surrounded by students, chatting about sports, grades or just life in general. Occasionally you’ll find him walking a struggling student around the grounds to calm them, sitting with a lonely student at lunch or grilling burgers for a faculty luncheon. Most evenings and weekends, you’ll find Mr. Sekely cheering on our students at extracurricular events. Some schools have a “buddy bench”; McLean has Mr. Sekely. Day in and day out, Mr. Sekely, quietly but surely protects McLean High School.

Congratulations also to the other McLean High School staff members recognized at FCPS Honors!
