Annual Junior Focus Day a Hit
On Tuesday, February 12, the Student Services Department provided the entire McLean junior class with the opportunity to participate in Junior Focus Day. 11th graders were able to attend informational sessions on the college admissions process and other post-secondary options during the first two blocks of the school day. Students dressed up for the day and chose four sessions to attend from 12 different options. Topics included a mock college admissions panel, military service, gap year, employment skills, SAT/ACT testing and more.
That evening we hosted parents and students for college planning night. Five deans of admission, who assisted us with the morning program stayed on site to speak about the college application process and answer questions. Laura Venos moderated the program as 300 parents and students came out to hear from these admissions professionals.
