Human Anatomy Students Witness Open Heart Surgery

Human Anatomy & Physiology students traveled to the INOVA Heart and Vascular Institute for The Dome Experience program. The students witnessed an open heart surgery firsthand while also learning how healthy – and not-so healthy – lifestyles can impact their own heart health. They also learned about the different career opportunities that can be used to support and operation like this.
Girls Basketball Wins Liberty District

Congratulations to the Girls Basketball on defeating South Lakes HS 45-40 and winning the Liberty District Championship. It was the program's first title since 1977.
Annual Junior Focus Day a Hit

On Tuesday, February 12, the Student Services Department provided the entire McLean junior class with the opportunity to participate in Junior Focus Day. 11th graders were able to attend informational sessions on the college admissions process and other post-secondary options during the first two blocks of the school day.
International Night Draws Crowd

International Night was a success. The event had about 200 attendees who were treated to great food, interesting performances, and a fashion show that showcased dress throughout the world. Many of the cultures of McLean students were on display. Thank you to Anna Nguyen, Ritta Saidi, Waseema Khan, Wafa Khan and all the members of the International Club for putting on a fabulous event.
All-District Band Members

Congratulations to the many members of the McLean Bands for earning positions in the 2019 All-District Bands! McLean had the highest number of students out of all schools make the honors ensemble. These students were selected based on a competitive audition in January. Additionally, many of them qualified to move on to the All-State Audition later in February. Congratulations to all of our students for their hard work in preparing and hosting the audition!
Digital Arts Class Hosts Food Truck Festival

Students in Ms. Jensen's Digital Arts class have been working all semester to prepare for a food truck festival. They designed logos, menus, business cards and their food trucks, and celebrated with a festival showcasing their creations and sharing culinary treats.

"Ebenezer's Christmas Carol" a Hit!

Several members of our Work Study family rehearsed for weeks to present one of the most beloved stories of any holiday season, a play called “Ebenezer’s Christmas Carol,” in the McLean High School Black Box Theatre Dec. 11-14.
McLean Seasons Art Project

The McLean Seasons Art Project is a series of art and photography exhibitions, the goal of which is to showcase the incredible talent and experiences of McLean High students and faculty and give the community an opportunity for recognition. Now the team is excited to announce it's first specialty exhibition scheduled for January 2019 entitled Memorable Travels! All Interested participants are encouraged to visit the project's site.
Annual Holiday Bazaar Supports McLean Athletic Programs!

About 5,300 people attended the 20th annual Holiday Bazaar at McLean High School on Saturday, December 8, 2018. The Bazaar is sponsored by the McLean High School Boosters Club and featured 81 craft vendors, including school clubs and local businesses. Money raised helps support student athletic programs at McLean HS.
