Mrs. Lane Named FCPS Region 2 Outstanding Leader!
Mr. LeBlanc and Ms. Hawkins Also Recognized at FCPS Honors
Congratulations to our former Assistant Principal Jamie Lane (now Principal at Oakton High School!) on being named the 2018 Region 2 Outstanding Leader and one of five finalists for this year's Outstanding School-based Leader Award!
Known as “the rock,” Mrs. Lane was revered at McLean for her ability to listen and take action to improve school culture. When youth survey results indicated students were experiencing higher than average levels of depression a few years back, she had school psychologists train 150 student mentors to respond when their classmates were struggling. Mrs. Lane also draws praise for her teacher mentoring programs and skill at building relationships with individual students. “Through her leadership,” said a colleague, “Mrs. Lane has created a school environment that will be successful for years to come.” Mrs. Lane is in a new role now after being appointed principal of Oakton High School.
Congratulations also to the other McLean High School staff members recognized at FCPS Honors!
